The Hygiene Trio is a complete set in water hygiene for the whole season. Depending on the version, it contains 250ml or 100ml of DEXDA® Clean disinfectant cleaner and 250ml of KXpress descaler, as well as the WM aquatec silver net for preserving 20,000 or 7500 liters of fresh water. The Hygiene-Trio is available for tank sizes up to 60, 160, 320 and 500 litres.
Frequently asked questions
Can the Silvernet also be used for more than 1 year?
The use of the Silvernet is basically until the max. preservation service possible, i.e. longer than 1 year. However, we recommend changing after 2 years at the latest in order to guarantee the hygienic safety and the function of the product. Depending on the water quality tanked, lime, for example, can build up on the “beads” in the housing over time, which impairs the release of the silver ions into the water and limits the function of the silver network. For prolonged use, we strongly recommend a visual inspection of the “beads”. If the silver layer is no longer there or is only partially visible, the product must be replaced immediately.
How do I store the Silvernet correctly when not in use or, for example, during long periods of standstill in winter?
When not in use or during the winter, the silver net can simply be removed from the tank and kept dry in a light-protected place. However, we recommend storage in a container filled with water (e.g. “Tupper-Box”), as in this way the material of the housing and the beads are protected from material fatigue.
Can an overdose of silver ions in my fresh water occur when using the Silvernet?
No. The Silvernet releases silver ions only until the saturation limit of the water has been reached. For chemical reasons, an overdose is not possible.
Silver in drinking water – is it a health concern?
First. So far, no scientific study can be reported that has demonstrated a harmful effect on the human organism in the above-mentioned concentrations.
Excerpt from the BfR Federal Institute for Risk Assessment – Opinion No. 024 of 28 Dec. 2009:
“The BfR also took into account an unrealistic worst-case assumption, in which a consumer from the age of one to 70 drinks 2 liters of water daily from small systems, whereby the maximum permissible silver concentration of 0.080 mg/l (80 μg) after treatment has been exhausted . The BfR came to the conclusion that […] there are no health concerns.”
The cities of Atlanta, Denver and New York also have a natural silver content of 200 – 300 μg/l, without any adverse effects on the health of the population affected.
Is it allowed to dispose of the gray water from the waste water tank into the sewage system after disinfection?
Basically, it is of course the case that our environment should/must be protected from chemical substances and these must not be allowed to get into the environment uncontrolled. When using cleaning products for the end consumer, this is not so easy to define and no distinction is made here with commercial users. Strictly speaking, when descaling the coffee machine or kettle, the descaling solution should not get into the sewage system, but must first be neutralized. In reality, however, it is the case that the active substance (here chlorine dioxide) 1. degrades, since it is “neutralized” during the cleaning or disinfection process and 2. these solutions, as soon as they arrive in the receiving water (sewage channel), are diluted so quickly that they can no longer be measured or no environmentally relevant conditions occur.
Can disinfection (DEXDA® Clean) and descaling (KXpress) be carried out at the same time?
Yes, DEXDA® Clean and KXpress can be used at the same time. The necessary steps for simultaneous use are described in the instructions for use of DEXDA® Clean. It should be noted that the maximum exposure time for simultaneous use is only 4 hours instead of 12.
How long does activated DEXDA® Clean last?
Activated DEXDA® Clean bottles must be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight. It is best to keep the mixed bottle in the refrigerator. If stored correctly, the activated product can be kept for up to 3 months without losing its effectiveness.
